NATIONAL HEALTHCARE PERSONNEL DAY: A TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO CARE FOR EVERYONE’S HEALTH

On February 20th, National Healthcare Personnel Day is celebrated—a moment to recognize the value, dedication, and irreplaceable contribution of all healthcare professionals. Nurses, doctors, healthcare technicians, and sector workers perform their duties daily with skill and passion to ensure the well-being of the community.

The University of Parma and its Healthcare Master’s programs join this celebration, reaffirming their commitment to training highly qualified professionals capable of facing the challenges of modern healthcare with technical expertise, ethical sensitivity, and an innovative mindset.

This day is also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of continuous education, a key element in providing increasingly effective, humane, and sustainable care.

On the morning of February 20th, a significant event for the nursing community took place: the presentation of the book “The Nursing Performance Model by Marisa Cantarelli in Brazil: Reflections and Implications.” The event, hosted in the Aula Magna of the University of Parma and broadcast live on YouTube (watch the event here), featured the participation of distinguished faculty members and professionals from both Italy and Brazil.

The discussion was moderated by Prof. Antonio Bonacaro, Associate Professor of Nursing Sciences at the University of Parma and provided an important occasion to reflect on the innovative contributions of Marisa Cantarelli, the first Italian theorist of nursing care. Her model, originally developed in Italy, has become a reference point for the profession in Brazil and other international contexts.

Several prominent speakers explored the significance of the Cantarelli model in nursing education, analyzing its theoretical and practical implications. Through discussions, testimonies, and academic analyses, the event outlined the evolution of nursing care, emphasizing the crucial role of research and innovation in shaping the future of the profession.

A heartfelt thank you to all healthcare professionals for their commitment and dedication!
